Title

Anthurium crystallinum

Originally recorded as being collected in Columbia, A. crystallinum is a terrestrial (and sometimes epiphytic) member of the section Cardiolonchium, which are characterized by their velutinous (velvety) leaf blades, and esqueletos (referring to the skeleton-like white veins) that many species in this section boast. Like other members of the section in cultivation, lots of them have bench-hybrid genetics and will differ greatly specimen to specimen. New leaves emerge tiny, and rusty hued, eventually hardening off to a deep green.

Anthurium crystallinum enjoys bright indirect to brief partial exposures to direct sun, a chunky, well-draining potting mix, mild to somewhat high temps, and cannot tolerate low humidity levels. Likes to superficially dry in-between waterings.

May need to be repotted yearly.

Toxic to pets.
