Maranta leuconeura

Maranta leuconeura is a terrestrial member of the Marantaceae family, and is native to the understory of Brazilian tropical forests. Creeping along the ground with rhizomes, it can create huge clumps on the forest floor. Living in the understory is beneficial to us trying to grow it in the home, as they are generally lower light plants. It's not so beneficial when you realize that the jungle floor is incredibly humid, and these plants are reliant on that humidity. Most commonly known for following a circadian rhythm, where they lay their leaves horizontally during the day, and point them upwards at night. There are many varieties in cultivation.

Maranta leuconeura enjoys low to bright indirect light, a chunky, well-draining soil,  moderate to high temps, and absolutely loves humidity(<60%). Likes to dry superficially between waterings, never allow to sit bone dry.

May need to be repotted in 6 months to a year.

3-6" nursery pots available.
