This cultivated live moss collection combines complementary growth forms for naturalistic terrariums, vivariums, paludariums, bonsai landscapes, moss gardens, and miniature ecological displays. Each species is supplied fresh and ready for establishment in closed or open systems.
Each variety is sold in a 5 1/2" x 4 7/8" x 2" clear plastic container.
Species:
Hypnum imponens (Sheet Moss) — A fast-spreading, pleurocarpous moss that forms cohesive, flexible mats. It conforms to soil, cork, wood, rock, and mesh surfaces while helping retain humidity, reduce substrate erosion, and stabilize the ground layer.
Racomitrium canescens (Sun Moss) — A xerotolerant, cushion-forming species with fine, upright filaments. It adds structural contrast and performs well in brighter, drier locations where other mosses may be less tolerant.
Brachythecium thraustum (Emerald Feather Moss) — A low-growing, branching moss with a soft, feathery texture. It creates refined carpeting, softens hardscape lines, and performs best with bright, indirect light, consistent moisture, and moderate to high humidity of approximately 60–90% RH.

For best results, unpack promptly and keep the moss cool and shaded if installation is delayed. Press it firmly onto a moist, well-aerated substrate to remove air gaps, and mist lightly or daily during the first 2–3 weeks to encourage attachment and steady growth. Moss Tac or a natural adhesive may be used for vertical surfaces. During dry periods, some moss may enter dormancy and change appearance, but it reliably revives after rehydration.
