Philodendron melanochrysum is a hemi-epiphyte that originates from both Columbia and Costa Rica. It is often called the Black Gold Philodendron due to its dark green (almost black) leaves and crystalline appearance on the leaves that resemble specks of gold.
It requires a well-draining potting mix, high humidity levels, moderate temps, and bright indirect/filtered light. Likes to thoroughly dry in between waterings.
Repot every 2-3 years.
This plant is toxic to pets and humans.
4" grow pot - since plants are still rooting, we recommend waiting until spring or summer to repot.
*We have several of these plants this size for sale, so obviously the plant you receive may not look exactly like the one pictured*
