Philodendron melanochrysum is a hemi-epiphyte native to Colombia and Costa Rica, prized for its velvety, elongated heart-shaped leaves and a distinctive crystalline sheen that catches the light. With a climbing growth habit and aerial roots, it creates a dramatic, luxurious accent in any plant collection.
Care: Prefers a well-draining potting mix, high humidity, moderate temperatures, and bright indirect or filtered light. Allow the soil to dry somewhat between thorough waterings. Repot every 2–3 years; when plants are still establishing roots, waiting until spring or summer to repot is recommended.
This plant is toxic to pets and humans—please place accordingly and handle with care.
