Rhaphidophora hayi 6"
Rhaphidophora hayi 6"
With a range including Indonesian Papua, Papua New Guinea, and Australia, Rhaphidophora hayi is a hemiepiphytic shingling Aroid, that can be found inhabiting primary and secondary monsoon/rain forests, on coralline limestone and basalt. No information in the literature indicates that this species undergoes any kind of ontogeny (morphological leaf-changes) as it matures/climbs.
Rhaphidophora hayi enjoys bright indirect to brief partial direct sun exposure, a chunky, well-draining potting mix, and high temps. It would appreciate some higher humidity levels, and likes to dry out in-between waterings.
May need to be repotted yearly, along with support extensions.
Toxic to pets.
